Title: Event IT Technician

Report to: Event Manager

Hours: 7:30am – 5:00pm

 

Everyman Racing is the UK's largest, leading supplier of Driving Experiences throughout the UK and are looking for a highly motivated Event IT Technician to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to work independently, and control the running of all IT aspects on our many events across the country.
  • The work includes working on our in-house server along with working with in-car filming and recording equipment.
  • Work with our away event teams.
  • Problem-solving and fixing systems in a timely matter to keep events running smoothly.
  • Proactively seeking out work that hasn’t yet presented itself, and fixing a problem before it becomes an issue.
  • Ensure the condition, safety and running of all equipment at all times while an event is running.
  • Accessing systems remotely as we run at various locations on the same day.
  • An ability to think outside of the box, making temporary modifications to keep an event running then resolving the problems when back on site to make sure we don’t have the same recurring issues.
  • Ability to liaise with staff at all levels of technical knowledge
  • Knowledge and Understanding of network infrastructure i.e. network switches, wireless access points, custom server applications, and local network distribution.

 

Key Skills/Requirements:

  • Qualification in IT (software and/or hardware) is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of local networking and file transfer in a local network over a long range is a must.
  • Ability to work a flexible shift, primarily weekend work away from home.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Although not customer focused, a good attitude with customers is needed.
  • Knowledge of FTP transfer, Filezilla and database/point of sale (SQL) software is a bonus. Along with the Canon WFT/FTP file transfer protocol.

 

Good practical knowledge of camera hardware in cars is a must. Knowledge specifically of Racelogic systems is desirable but training can be given in this.

Previous work in hospitality is desired.

Driving licence required as a site not accessible by public transport, and as travelling to our event locations is a regular occurrence.

Please bear in mind this role does require working away from home We run away events weekly from March to November every year.

Positions are on a full-time basis with weekend work required.
